companies in Diamond City. We build safety guards for
machinery and automatic fishing reels. Was assigned to Det
12, 10th RBS Squadron in Ironwood, MI in '62. We moved the
site to Bayshore in the summer of '63 and I mustered out
in October '63. My wife and I had a big Boxer dog and a
little blue VW back then. Wife's name is Joyce. She was
attending Univ. of Tulsa in '63 and that's where I headed
when I left Bayshore. I went to work for IBM and retired
in '94 after working in several divisions of the company.
Have two daughters that live in Phoenix. I remember that
during the summer we would take the detachment's aluminum
boat out to the lakes to picnic and water ski until late

single dad at the time, I took a hardship and left.
Graduated from the University of North Dakota in '89.
Joined the ND Army Guard in Air Defense Artillery in '89.
Hired on with the post office in '89 as a carrier, am now
a maintenance relief supervisor. Been called up four times
in the guard, retired in '04. Life has been good, I have a
small explosives business, tractor trailer outfit to haul
grain with, and a small farm in the most beautiful part of
America. 2 more years and I can hang it up with the post
office. Old age has given me white hair and degenerative
arthritis in the spine. Who would have thought we could

Nami, and I moved from Grand Rapids to Arizona 10/98. I
retired form the USAF as an E7 in '90. Lived and worked
around Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo until we moved here.
Our oldest daughter, Holli, graduated from Grand Valley
State and is a part-owner of a therapy business in Grand
Rapids. She is married and has one daughter and gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Caleb James, on 9 April 2004. Our youngest daughter, Lisa,
graduated from Arizona State University in May and will attend the University of Arizona Med School in July 2004 to become a doctor in Pediatrics.
She is still
single and working full-time, also. Nami and I are still
working, saving for full-time retirement. I now work for Lufthansa at their student
pilot training school here by Phoenix. Nami works at
SunHealth, a
medical network out here. I suffered an aneurysm on my brain in 1999, had three surgeries and as you can see survived. We come
back to Michigan as much as possible to see our daughter, my Mom and my
sister, especially with the benefits from Lufthansa. We both play
golf and enjoy the sunshine year-round. By the way, the weather is great here and anyone coming to the valley for a vacation and requires any info e-mail me and I'll be glad to help.

America, WY in Oct - Dec '81 as a 77 Board Operator and
then moved to 77 Maintenance Crew. I spent 5 years in the
Philippines and then was assigned to Holbrook AZ from '87
to '93. From Holbrook I went to Dugway, UT from '93 - '95
then retired. I am currently a Project Manager for
Chemical and Biological Testing Special Programs Div.,

Bayshore. In fact, we were trying not to settle back in NJ but that is where I took a job. I interviewed with a company called StorageTek in southern MI and I was offered a position in Jackson MI or central NJ. We wanted to remain in Michigan less than we wanted to go to New Jersey--so here we are! I'm still with StorageTek and work as a Field Service Engineer. We live just outside of Phillipsburg NJ. Sue and I celebrate our 27th anniversary in July 2004. Sue currently works full-time as an optician. We have 2 kids. Melissa (24) was born while I was still at
Bayshore. She graduated from college 2002. She got married last year. Laurence (20) will soon begin his fourth year of college at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester NY. Robert - After Guam, we were sent to Eglin AFB
in Fort Walton Beach. I worked as a Quality Assurance
Evaluator for an Operations and Maintenance Contract on
the vast land ranges the base has down here. It was
pretty interesting work seeing what most people only got
to read about. I mean QAing all the munitions testing
ranges, laser systems, guided missiles, ECM systems and
many more. Seeing that stuff really work was something
to see. I retired 2/93 as a SMSgt. I was in-line for
CMSgt but the Air Force wanted to send me to take over a
site in ICELAND. I told them, "No thanks." Ten
years in Bayshore was the last of the cold I ever
wanted. So I got out and worked for a contractor to
build up what we call the RFS (Radio Frequency
Simulator), which is used to simulate the path of a
missile in flight and test it against ECM and other
targets. It was shear Hell; the project was for $76
million and we had to get on line within a certain time
frame so we put in 12 hour days six days a week for the
four years I worked on the project. It was bad times for
us but it paid the bills. Then in 1/97 I got a job as a
civil servant doing what I did as a Blue Suiter. So
everything is going pretty good now. Leah got married;
Kim is going to college; Bobby is still in school. Yes,
I still have the Corvette and I am getting it ready for

Airlines maintenance base at San Francisco International
Airport. Prior to coming to United, I worked in the
engineering and heavy construction industry and lived in
Virginia as well as California. While I've been married
in the past, the relationship didn't produce children. I
married a wonderful woman, Marcy, in May '02. She
has two grown children and we are looking forward to
grandchildren. Also, I think this is a good opportunity
to say that everyone looks great in the reunion photos.

I left Bayshore 8/80 and went to Det 8, Richmond. Stayed
there one year and cross-trained into "Biomedical
Equipment Repairs." From Richmond, I went to
Sheppard for tech school. I arrived at Chanute AFB
Hospital in IL 6/82. From here I went to a Contingency
Hospital in England (RAF Upwood) in Oct. '84. My oldest
son was born at Chanute (now 19 and will be a junior at
Liberty University, Lynchburg VA this fall). While at
Chanute and England, I was able to finish an Associate
and BS Degree. My two youngest, daughter (17) and son
(16) were born at Lakenheath England;
daughter will be a senior in high school and son will be
a sophomore. We left England in 10/87 and went to Dover
AFB Hospital in Delaware. We spent a year and a half
there until I was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in June '89
as a Clinical Engineer. From there I was stationed at
Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, Lackland AFB TX, Chief
of Clinical Engineering and Medical Equipment Management
Branch. It was a great and quick three years - promoted
to 1Lt. here. June '92, I was assigned to the Command
Surgeon's Office at what was then standing up Air Combat
Command (mix of SAC, TAC & MAC) Langley AFB, VA;
Chief, Clinical Engineering overseeing then 34
facilities; promoted to Captain in '93. Spent a little
over 3 years here and was assigned to Malcolm Grow
Medical Center, Andrews AFB MD as the Chief, Clinical
Engineering & Medical Equipment Repair Center. We
spent 3 years here and was reassigned back to the
Command Surgeon's Office where we currently are. Whew! a
lot has gone by in these what seem to be a quick 25
years! I retired as a Major at Langley AFB VA in Oct 02. However, they found it necessary to hire me back as a contractor doing pretty much what I was doing on active duty. God is

our eighteen-year-old daughter is a bio-chemical major at
San Jose State. Carolyn is our ten-year-old who keeps up

Bayshore: '69 - '72. I married Jean Moyer on April 21, 1972 and was shipped to Cape Lisburne ADC, Alaska that June. I had follow-on tours at 26 Air Division HQ, Luke AFB, AZ, 67th
SMS, Ellsworth AFB, SD, Det 7th, Balikesir, Turkey, and HQ
UASFE, Ramstein AR, Germany. I was at Bayshore from 1969 through 1973. I retired in July 1988, taught school for three years, and went to graduate school at the University of Michigan. I received my Ed.D in December 2003. Jean and I rotate between Ann Arbor and Vero Beach, FL. Currently, I am a Media Specialist in the Ann Arbor Public School System while Jean plans to retire from teaching kindergarten in June. We have two children: Gregory is a graduate of University of Florida and is employed in Scholarship Stewardship Department there. Katie is a senior at Harvard majoring in applied mathematics. We return to Petoskey every summer and sometimes more often.

Came back to Seattle for some work prior to going to England and France to flight test the Royal Air Force and French Air Force AWACS airplanes. Was lots of fun!! Hill AFB in Utah until 6/86 when I returned to Pilsung
Range, where I worked as Chief of Maintenance until 6/92.
I spent my last year in the Black Hills of South Dakota
at Bell Fourch SD. Back in CEVG or whatever they called
it then. Since I retired 6/93, I used the GI bill and
became an RN. Graduated 5/96 and have been working as
the Director of Nursing at a nursing home for the past
five years. I have three sons, Fritz and Bobby stayed in
Charlevoix with their mother. Bob graduated from MSU in
Lansing '01--now a CPA. Fritz is still trying to figure
out what he wants in life. My third son was born
11/94--he is now in the first grade--a typical 7 year
old. My wife, Bo Sun, is from Korea--she just became a
U.S. citizen. I'm back in school using up what is left
of my GI bill money. I'm looking at a new profession,
something less demanding and less stressful. I'm trying
to get into the Sonography program at the local college

I was a "founding member" of Bayshore Bomb Plot. I was assigned there right out of Keesler
6/63 when it was nothing more than a patch of dirt on the hill. We built the site from scratch and I can recall the C-47's coming in to mark the targets. I was a MPS-9/OA-215 operator and later did duty as a controller.
I remember George Daylong, Nick Galbraith, Sgt. Huff, Dick Mays, Esme's restaurant south of town, and, of course, Bud's Bar.
I spent time on the RBS Express in Missouri and Iowa and 3 months TDY in Detroit acting as a controller at the Nike sites around the city when B-52's were running against them. I fondly recall the many B-58 runs IP inbound from Chicago when the MPS-39 couldn't acquire the A/C and the cry "9, do you have him?", went out over the intercom. I left
3/65 for reassignment to Berlin, Germany in the ATC Center running back-up tracking radar in the Tasker section. After my discharge in 1966, I returned to Philadelphia with my wife (whom I met in Charlevoix) and presently work in sales in the computer industry.

Michigan Community Mental Health System. Work with
persons with developmental disabilities & mental
impairments. Assist person to obtain and retain gainful
employment. Also, secretary of the local three township
fire department. A departure from the "Old
Jack": involved in the local jail systems as the
Prison Fellowship Minister and coordinator for the
National Day of Prayer in the Baldwin area. Gloria is

SD while on TDY to the MDL at Fedora. We've been married
over 22 years now and it just keeps getting better. We
were thinking about planning a future trip back to
Bayshore to see how it's changed over the years.
Maybe the next reunion would be a good time. |
